Beat the Season with your Favorite Herbal Tea

Autumn is here, winter is next. These lovely seasons definitely add colors to our lives and let us enjoy the diversities. However, a human body always resists a change, even if it is for better.

During a seasonal change, we have to sometimes face some uninvited guests (seasonal allergies) such as runny nose, watery eyes, ear infection, and fever and so on. These allergies can be quite bothersome for many of us. However, they shouldn’t stop us from welcoming the new season and making the most of it.

In order to avoid these allergies, we should add herbal teas in our diets. Herbal teas have been used since ages in Asian countries because of their healing properties. Moreover, incorporating herbal tea in your diet can prevent you from the attacks of different kinds of allergies, bacteria and viruses.

Therefore, I am sharing the three amazing herbal tea recipes with super healing benefits. Pick your favourite one and beat the season :).

 

  1. Cinnamon-Cardamom Tea:

           Ingredients:

  • Water 1 and 1/2 cup.
  • Black tea leaves one pinch.
  • Green cardamom 2
  • A small stick of cinnamon.
  • Honey as a sweetener (optional).

 

Method:

Put water in a tea pan and keep it on low- medium heat, add all the ingredients and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes unless the water remains one cup.  Strain the ingredients and drink it lukewarm. You can add honey to sweeten it.

Benefits:

This tea helps to alleviate sinus allergies such as a cough, flu, cold, runny or blocked nose and headaches.  Drink this tea regularly up to three days at bedtime for maximum benefits.

 

  1. Lemon- Ginger Tea:

         Ingredients:

  • Water 1 cup
  • Lemon 1/2.
  • Ginger half a teaspoon (peeled and crushed).
  • Honey as a sweetener (optional).

Method:

Boil a cup of water. In an empty cup, add a teaspoon of ginger, pour the hot water and cover it for five minutes. After five minutes, strain the water, and squeeze about few drops of lemon in it. Mix it well and add honey if you want. Drink this tea in the evenings or at bedtime for at least three days.

Benefits:

The Lemon-Ginger tea works wonder in a cough, congestion and flu. It helps to alleviate headaches. Moreover, it also improves digestion and reduces gas and bloating.

 

  1. Turmeric- Honey Tea:

Ingredients:

  • Water 2 cups
  • Turmeric half a teaspoon
  • Honey one teaspoon or up to taste.

Method:

Add water into the pan, and add turmeric into it. Boil it for 2-3 minutes and pour it into a cup. Let it cool down a bit then add honey into it. You can take this tea once or twice a week.

Benefits:

Turmeric has anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps clear the sinuses, alleviates headaches and other body pains. Moreover, it also kills the bad bacteria in your body.
